Paul Hamilton Gilbert died Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at Community Hospital in McCook. He was 98 years old.
Paul was born on November 22, 1909, at Fulton, Arkansas where he received his education.
On March 1, 1942, he entered the US Army and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged on March 4, 1945. After his discharge, he returned to Garberville, California where he was owner and operator of Redwood Barbershop for 22 years. He later moved to Grants Pass, Oregon and most recently to McCook. He was residing at Hillcrest Nursing Home at the time of his death.
He was a past-member of the Lions Club, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. His hobby was cooking.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Augustus and Jonnie Gilbert.
Survivors include his daughter, Celia and husband, Glenn Robertson of Ft. Orchard, Washington; and many friends at Hillcrest.

There will be no local service. He will be buried at Eagle Point National Cemetery at Eagle Point, Oregon.
