Paul Miner

December 23, 1935 — November 26, 2004

Paul Dean Miner, 68, died Friday, November 26, 2004 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Paul was born to Cecil Thompson and Mary Etta (Stitzel) Miner on December 23, 1935, on the family farm south of Cambridge, Nebraska. He attended school in Wilsonville. He joined the US Air Force in December of 1954 and became a jet mechanic.

He married Louella Marie Urban on February 22, 1955. The couple lived in England, Japan and the United States during his 20 years of service to his country. He retired from the USAF in 1974 and moved to Indianola, Nebraska. The couple moved to McCook in 1984. He worked for almost 30 years in the McCook area in the air conditioning and heating business.

His pride and joy were his two children, Darin Miner and Paula Doyle. Both children have blessed him and Louella with two grandchildren each: Kathy and Swanlee to Darin and Bernadette Miner; Meagan and Ethan to Paula and Patrick Doyle.

Paul and Louella loved to travel this great country together by train, bus and car on tours and to visit many family and friends. They were both very involved in family history and tracking down family members and their ancestors.

Paul loved to help anyone that needed help. He would help build houses, remodel rooms, work on cars, garages and work on someone's computer. He didn't seem to know the word "no".

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ivan and Wayne and four infant brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Louella Miner of McCook; son Darin Miner and wife, Bernadette, of McCook; daughter, Paula and husband, Patrick Doyle, of McCook; two brothers, Melvin Miner and wife, Beulah, of Grand Island and Ervin Miner of Indiana; sister Marietta Jean and husband, George Hoelscher, of McCook; and four grandchildren, Kathy, Swanlee, Meagan and Ethan.

In lieu of flowers memorials were to be given in his name.

Funeral service were Tuesday, November 30, 2004, 10:00 a.m. at Carpenter Breland Chapel with Jason VanPelt officiating. Burial took place at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell.
