Phil E. Rouse

Phil E. Rouse, age 69, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at his home in Trenton, Nebraska.

Phil was born on June 18, 1946 to Lena M. Fausch and Max Y. Rouse in Superior, Nebraska. They later moved to Minden, Nebraska where he attended and graduated High School in 1964.

He married Betty Lee Poppinga on June 30, 1972 in Hastings, Nebraska. Phil and Betty lived around the Hastings area until moving to McCook in 1974, and then to Trenton in 1986. He worked as a project manager, safety director and carpenter.  He worked for Kugler Company from 1978 until his retirement in 2014.

Phil enjoyed woodworking and old cars. Most importantly, Phil loved to spend time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Stephen Rouse; son, Rick Davis; and mother and father in-law, Francis and Dorothy Poppinga.

Phil is survived by his wife, Betty of Trenton; children, Jeff Rouse of Lincoln, NE, Tony (Darcy) Rouse of McCook, NE, Mark (CJ) Rouse of Culbertson, NE, Ryan (Janelle) Davis of McCook, NE, Sandy Rouse of Lincoln, NE, and Kelly (Bryan) Leggott of Trenton, NE; brother, Randy (Rebecca) Rouse of Hondo, TX; sisters, Sharon (Kent) Watson of Mesa, AZ, Diane (Leroy) Bell of Grand Island, NE, Kathy (Doug) Baughman of Giltner, NE, and Linda (Gale) Sherman of Omaha, NE; mother-in-law, Bernyce Oberhauser of McCook; sister-in-law, Cathy (Jim) Suit of Bozeman, MT; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, December 21, 2015 at the Trenton United Methodist Church starting at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Trenton United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Bales and Pastor Alisa Parde officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be given in his name.
