Phyllis E. Jones

Phyllis E. Jones, 72, of McCook, passed away Monday, Jan. 19, 2004 at Community Hospital of McCook.
She was born July 24, 1931, in Norcatur to Frank and Ruth Vera (Shrock) Gallentine. On Oct. 23, 1949, she married Donovan Lee Jones in Oberlin. The couple lived in Denver for 17 years and then moved to McCook in 1975.
Phyllis worked a variety of jobs including clerking at A&M Drug, making salads at the Chief Restaurant and cleaning houses. Phyllis loved to garden and enjoyed her flowers. She also enjoyed taking daily walks.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Ruth Gallentine.
Survivors include her husband, Donovan Jones of McCook; son William Jones also of McCook; daughter, D‚ri Coyle and husband, John of Denver, Colo.; her brother, Frank Gallentine and wife Jan of Elizabeth, Colo.; and three grandchildren.
Memorials were to be given in her name.
Services were Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, 11 a.m., at Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating. Burial took place in the Norcatur Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
