R. 'Riney' Loose

R. G. “Riney” Loose, 80, died Tuesday, July 05, 2005 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.

He was born March 4, 1925 in Brush, Colorado to George and Pauline (Kauffman) Loose.

He grew up and attended school in Brush and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1942 – 1945.

He married Eileen M. Lehl in Oberlin, Kansas on August 29, 1942. They had three children, Terry, Randy and Kim.

He was the owner and operator of the Loose & Smith Pool Hall. Later he also drove a delivery van for the Jewell Company and also drove the Handi Bus for the City of McCook.

He was preceded in death by his wife Eileen on November 26, 1993; and a son, Randy, in November of 1982.

Survivors include his son, Terry Loose and wife Cheryl of Broomfield, Colorado; a daughter Kim Rouse and husband Terry of McCook; two brothers, Larry Loose of Lexington and Don Loose and wife Naomi of Warren, Michigan; two sisters, Lillian Urbach and husband Harold of Coppell, Texas and Gladys Knaus and husband Dick of Longmont, Colorado; two grandchildren, Greg Loose and wife Julie of Chicago, Illinois and Erica Amos and husband Mark of Independence, Missouri; four great grandchildren, Fuller and Charlie Loose and Kendra and Kara Amos.

Memorials were being accepted in his name.

Memorial services were Friday at 10 a.m. at Cornerstone Fellowship Church with Mike Roth officiating.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
