Ray E. Henry
April 30, 1924 — November 4, 2007
Ray E. Henry passed away on November 4, 2007 at the Great Plains Medical Center in North Platte. He was 83 years old.
Ray was born on April 30, 1924 at Arnold to Ira M. and Alveda (Anderson) Henry.
He was a ranch foreman for the Starr Ranch at Stapleton and Swift Ranch at Thedford. In 1962, he moved to North Platte where he became a carpenter working for Dowhower Construction. He later went into business for himself.
The things he enjoyed most were rodeo, horses and the cowboy way of life.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Ira and Alveda Henry; brother, Lawrence Henry; and sister, Ethel Johnson.
Survivors include his son, Neil Henry and wife, Jayne, of Imperial; daughter, Susan Henry of McCook; granddaughter, Tasha and husband, Aaron Nelson and great-grandson, Kyle Nelson of Lincoln; sister, Ida Miller of Kennewick, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Nebraska High School Rodeo Endowment Fund. They may be sent to NHSRA, Becky Dailey, PO Box 10, Arnold, NE 69120.
