Raymond Lyle Bridgmon of Palisade died Sunday, November 26, 2006 at the Chase County Hospital, Imperial, Nebraska. He was 78 years old.
He was born May 26, 1928 at Palisade to George Ervin Bridgmon and Jean Fulton Chartraw. He grew up in Palisade and graduated from the Palisade High School in 1946.
He entered the US Air Force in 1946 and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1949.
He married Ruth Marie Edghill at Palisade on January 10, 1948. To this union three children were born. He lived most of his adult life in the Denver area. After his retirement in 1997, he moved back to Palisade.
Raymond was a truck driver for Pizza Hut and Safeway. He loved wood working, fishing, hunting, and restoring automobiles. He also enjoyed being with his family and watching the Denver Broncos and Nebraska Cornhuskers Football Games.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Jean Bridgmon; one son, Rick Bridgmon in 2005; one brother, Howard Bridgmon; and two sisters Gladys Myers and Bonnie Bridgmon.
Survivors include: his wife Ruth of Palisade; a son Craig Bridgmon and wife Barbara of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter Kristy Bridgmon of Denver, Colorado; one sister Wilma Phares of Salem, Oregon; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Aaron
Bridgmon and wife, Jennifer and their son, Joshua of Colorado Springs, CO, Jerrad Bridgmon and wife, Krista, of Colorado Springs, CO and Lacey Bridgmon of Edmond, OK; and a host of relatives and friends.
Memorials may be given in his name.
Funeral services were Thursday, November 30, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Palisade. A military honor guard followed the service at the church.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
