Reuben Hoff, Jr. passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at McCook Community Hospital. He was 73 years old.
Reuben was born on September 26, 1937 in McCook, Nebraska to Reuben "Duke" and Mabel (Kentopp) Hoff, Sr. He graduated from McCook in 1955.
On December 8, 1957, he was united in marriage to Rosalie Bone at the Westside Congregational Church in McCook. Reuben joined the U.S. Navy July 6 1955, and was honorably discharged on June 6, 1963. Following his discharge, he worked as a U.S. Postal Supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service for 31 years until his retirement on December 1, 1998.
Reuben enjoyed many hobbies including; hunting, fishing, gardening and an all around "jack-of-all" trades. Most importantly, Reuben enjoyed family time, visiting with friends and family as well as new acquaintances. Reuben was also a member of The First Congregational Church of McCook.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his sister, Sandra; and his infant son, Daniel.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Rosalie; two sons, Bryan Hoff of Lincoln; Reuben (Dinna) Hoff III, of Cozad; daughter, Jeannine (Alan) Kotschwar of McCook; brother, Robert Hoff of McCook; also 7 grandchildren: Donnavan, Sommer, Chris, Taylor, Nathan, Adam and Brandon, and 3 great-grandchildren.
