Richard W. Siebrandt, 78, died Monday (Jan. 26, 2004) at his home in McCook.
He was born April 21, 1925, in Dodge. He attended Parks rural school as a child and later, in 1976, earned his GED.
On Feb. 3, 1948, he married Alice Marie Novak at Pender. To this union six children were born. Richard and Alice farmed their first seven years of marriage in northeastern Nebraska. They moved to the McCook community in 1966, where Richard was employed at TRW as a quality control foreman. He retired after 29 years.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Kingsmen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Virgil Siebrandt; and a granddaughter, Marcy Siebrandt.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Siebrandt of McCook; six children, Larry Siebrandt and wife, Karen of McCook, Linda and husband, Michael Ide of Manhattan, Kan., Gary Siebrandt and wife, Cindy of McCook, Marlin Siebrandt of McCook, Mark Siebrandt of Fort Collins, Colo., and Roger Siebrandt and wife, Marti of McCook; four brothers, Dale Siebrandt and wife, Charlene of Omaha, Marvin Siebrandt and wife, Berniece, Vernon Siebrandt and wife, Donna and Frederick Siebrandt and wife, Sharon, all of Bancroft; two sisters, Eileen Tunink of Norfolk and Loraine and husband, Kenneth Sachs of Bancroft; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial is Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Rosary is today, 7 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given in his name to the Red Cross Bloodmobile.
