Richard “Dick” Beideck of McCook died Thursday, May 12, 2005 at Bryan LGH-East Hospital in Lincoln.
On July 16, 1931, Dick was born in McCook the son of Jacob and Marie Katherine (Brehm) Beideck. He graduated from McCook High School in 1950.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 - 1954, and then took employment with Burlington Northern Railroad as a Conductor/Brakeman until he retired in 1992.
He married Joyce Foth of Ord, on June 24, 1956. To this union there were three children born.
He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, The Elks Club, American Legion and the VFW. Dick will be remembered as a man who enjoyed being with people, especially his family and grandchildren. His special interests were hunting, fishing, gardening, puttering in his garage, and going to coffee with the gang.
Survivors include his wife Joyce; daughter Jennifer and son-in-law Paul Sline of Plano, TX; two sons, John Beideck and daughter-in-law Gay of Kearney and Jeff Beideck of Omaha; five grandchildren , Jessica, Katherine, and Abigail Sline and Chase and Blake Beideck; a brother Jerry Beideck and wife Jean of McCook; nieces and nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be given in his name.
Memorial Services were Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Memorial United Methodist Church with Reverend Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook is in charge of the arrangements.
