Robert L. Bowker, died Tuesday, October 3, 2006, in his home. He was 77.
Robert was born March 26, 1929 in Beaver City, the son of Robert R. and Marie (John) Bowker.
The family moved to Hendley where Robert lived until age eight, when the family moved to Ponca City, Okla., where he spent the rest of his childhood and graduated from High School and then attended Northern Oklahoma Community College. The family moved to McCook in 1949 where he spent the remainder of his life.
He married Joanne Denman of Cambridge on October 10, 1953.
He was a long time employee of the McCook Equity Exchange where he managed the Tractor and Implement Department. He was a Supervisor at Dayco from 1973 to 1986.
He was a member of First Christian Church and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marie Bowker; and wife, Joanne on September 12, 1996.
Survivors include three daughters, Cindy Moody and husband, Greg of McCook, Karen Denker and husband, Lee of Wauneta, Patty Jass and husband, Kevin of Greeley, Colorado; brother, Jerry Bowker and wife, Jan of Knoxville, Tenn; grandchildren, Jeff Moody of Lincoln, Lori Rousselle and husband Tanner of Lincoln, Chris Manker of Kansas City, Kansas, Bryan Jass of Denver, Colo, Stacy Jass, Craig Jass both of Greeley, Colo; great-granddaughter, Linden Rousselle of Lincoln.
Memorials may be given in his name.
Funeral services were Friday, October 6, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Clark Bates officiating. Burial at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
