Robert Eugene Felker, age 85, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Hillcrest Nursing Home.

Robert was born to Alexander and Mary (Propp) Felker on December 4, 1929 in Culbertson. He was only able to attend school through the sixth grade because he had to help his parents on the farm. He worked hard all of his life even after he retired from Dayco in 1995, he still kept busy in his own way.

On November 23, 1949 he married Betty Jumps in McCook. To this union two children were born, Scott and Bob. They later divorced. He married Kathy Scharvin in Oxford on July 3, 1982. They later divorced.

Robert joined the U. S. Army on May 14, 1952 and served during the Korean war and was honorably discharged on February 13, 1954.

He was a past member of Peace Lutheran Church and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Culbertson.

Robert enjoyed prairie dog and pheasant hunting, spending time at Barnett park with the ducks and geese and he was a huge Husker fan.

Survivors include his sons, Scott Felker and wife, Amanda of McCook, Bob Felker, Jr. and wife, Brenda of Rochester, MN; and three grandchildren, Aaron, Caleb and Cassidy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edward, Henry, Harold, Charlie and Ralph; sisters, Lila West, Esther Thompson, Rachel Witt, Lila West and Martha Johnson.

Visitation will be Monday, June 8, 2015 from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with the family greeting friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Pastor Clark Bates officiating. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery with Military honors.
