Robert "Mush" William Keslin died Monday, December 14, 2009 at Hillcrest Nursing Home. He was 82 years old.
Bob was born on December 6, 1927 at Chicago, IL to Emil Rudolph and Mary Elizabeth (Buick) Keslinke. He graduated from Schurz High School in Chicago in 1954.
On August 29, 1945, he entered the US Navy and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged on December 3, 1948.
He was united in marriage to Gladys Rose Myszker on March 17, 1962. She preceded him in death on July 3, 1973. He was later married to Mary (Martin) Deaton on October 15, 1976 in Dundee, IL.
Bob had lived in the McCook community for the past 21 years previous to that time he was a truck driver and had his own construction company. He was a member of First Congregational Church and Masonic Blue Lodge. He loved antique cars, his dogs and tinkering in his garage.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Emil and Mary, and wife, Gladys.
Survivors include his wife Mary, sons, Robert Grant Keslin and wife, Sandra, of Antioch, IL and Kenneth Emil Keslin and wife, Jessi, of McCook; step-daughter, Catherine and husband, Park McGehee, of Opelika, AL; brother, Richard Keslinke and wife, Nola, of Aurora, IL; sisters, Dolores Frank of Sylva, NC and Mary Ann and husband, Chet Duckert of Waukesha, WI; and four grandchildren, Garrett Dagostin, Mary Claire Dagostin, Kora Keslin and Van Keslin.
Memorials were to be given in his name.
Memorial and Masonic services were Thursday, December 17, 2009, 2:00 p.m. at First Congregational Church with Pastor Steve Bales officiating. Inurnment took place at Fort McPherson National Cemetery with military honors.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
