Robert Lepper
September 5, 1944 — December 14, 2009
Robert "Bob" Eugene Lepper died Monday, December 14, 2009 at his home in McCook. He was 65 years old.
Bob was born on September 5, 1944 in McCook to William Henry and Neva Wardene (Otis) Lepper.
He entered the US Army in November of1963, serving in Germany for two and a half years. He was then transferred to Viet Nam from 1967 until 1969 where he was stationed at Bac Lieu, Phuoc Long. He was then transferred stateside to Virginia until he was honorably discharged in 1972.
On June 15, 1970, he married Barbara Titman in McCook. To this union three children were born. He later married Becky Jane (McConnell) Piper on December 12, 1998. Bob worked for Dayco (Electric Hose Plant) for many years, then construction and later became a truck driver.
He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and lifetime member of VFW. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Neva Lepper; two brothers, William and Larry Lepper; four sisters, Betty Harper, Marilyn Shadley, Charlotte Groothius and Carol Matson; and brother-in-law, Bart Snyder.
Survivors include his wife, Becky Lepper of McCook; three sons, DeWayne Lepper of Indianola, Clifford "Corky" Lepper of Los Angeles, CA and Donald Lepper and wife, Tammy of Indianola; step-sons, Wayne Piper and wife, Tara, of McCook and George Piper of Tecumseh; step-daughter, Laurie Brown of McCook; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Annette Snyder of McCook, Sandra and husband, Allen Diederich, of Oberlin, KS and Laurie and husband, Sam Dybdahl of McCook; brothers, Donald "Rusty" Lepper of Lebanon and Mike Lepper and wife, Sherrie, of McCook; sisters-in-law, Lois Lepper of McCook and Mary Lepper of Henderson, NV; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Memorials were to given in his name to the American Cancer Society.
Memorial services were Thursday, December 17, 2009, 2:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Tom Albertson officiating. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with military committal.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
