Rodney Ray Scott

Rodney Ray Scott died Sunday, August 28, 2005 at Community Hospital in McCook. He was 63 years old.

He was born August 29, 1941 to Wallace Dow and Alice France (Balius) Scott at McCook. He attended McCook and Oberlin schools.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 – 1978 during the Vietnam War. He married Darlene J. Baker in Jacksonville, FL on August 7, 1972. They have lived in McCook since July 4, 1980.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Eagles and the U.S. Navy Retired Cooks.

He was preceded in death by his parents: and a brother Robert on August 13, 2005.

Survivors include his wife Darlene of McCook; a son, Roger Baker of Sidney; two daughters, Courtney Scott of McCook and Sherri Day and husband Tim of Colorado Springs, CO.; two brothers, Richard Scott and wife Rose of McCook and Larry Scott and wife Sherri of Odessa, TX; a sister, Donna Scott and special friend Kathy Savage of Munjor, KS; four grandchildren, Dylan and Devan Baker and Taylor and Cassie Day; nieces and nephews.

Memorials are being accepted in his name.

Rosary will be Wednesday August 31, 2005 at 7 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, September 1st at 10:30 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in McCook with Father Gary Brethour officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday until 8 p.m and Wednesday 9 a.m. until time of Rosary. Friends may also go online at www.carpenterbreland.com to extend condolences.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook is in charge of the arrangements.
