Roger J. Britten died Monday, April 17, 2006, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, he was 54.
Roger was born September 4, 1951, to Raymond and Agnes (Delaney) Britten in Red Cloud. He graduated from Blue Hill High School and attended McCook Junior College, where he was a member of the football team.
He married Pamela Williamson on April 8, 1971 in Perryton, Texas and they were later blessed with two children. He worked at Southwest Public Power District for 35 years and served on many state wide committees.
He attended Hamlet Union Church and served on the Palisade Fire Department. He loved people and all animals. In his free time he enjoyed building dog houses and then would give them away.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond; infant brother; and aunts and uncles.
Survivors include his wife, Pam of Palisade; son, Brian Britten and wife Amanda of Bloomington, MN; daughter, Jenna Britten of Kearney; mother, Agnes Britten of Blue Hill; brothers, Joe Britten and wife Sharon of Grand Island, Dennis Britten and wife Laura of Clay Center, and Fred Britten and wife Vickie of Syracuse; sisters, Theresa Compton of Bogart, GA and Cecilia Shultz and husband Dan of Council Bluffs, Iowa; many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Duke.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his name.
Funeral services were Friday at 2:00 p.m. (CDT) at the Palisade School Gymnasium in Palisade, with Pastor Marshall Erickson officiating. Burial took place in the Palisade Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
