Ron D. Casida

Ronnie Dewayne Casida, age 58, of Goddard, KS passed away unexpectedly at his home in Goddard on May 31, 2020.

Ron was born October 20, 1961 in Norton, KS to parents Edmond A. and Judith A. (Gallentine) Casida.  He was one of two brothers.  Ron’s early years were spent in the Goodland area before the family relocated to the McCook community where Ron attended school, graduating from McCook High School with the Class of 1979.

Following high school, Ron enlisted in the United States Navy.  He proudly served his country as a submarine repairman until his honorable discharge. Following his time in the service, Ron received his Colorado Aerotech Certification and worked as an aircraft mechanic.

Ron loved the outdoors.  Camping, fishing and family time at the lake were some of his favorite pastimes.  Ron was also an avid NASCAR fan and Raider Football fan.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Bill Casida.

Those left to celebrate his life include his sons, Tom (Cheri) Barnes and Curtis (Jill) Barnes, all of Lindsborg, KS; daughter, Leslie (Shane) Kagle of McPherson, KS; seven grandchildren, Caitlyn Barnes, Kirk Barnes, Lauren Barnes, Taylor Barnes, Connor Barnes, Melody Kagle and Kaden Kagle; and his two nephews, Eric (Stasi) Casida and Scott (Carissa) Casida and families.
