Biography

Rose Ellen Doyle, age 77, died Wednesday, February 25, 2009 in Kearney at Good Samaritan Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born January 9, 1932 in McCook to Arthur and Mary (Lepper) Koetter. She graduated from McCook High School in 1948.

She married Gene T. Doyle in McCook on September 5, 1950. To this union seven children were born. They were the owners of the Doyle Oil Company from 1955-1995.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Altar Society. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, Nebraska football and basketball and most of all, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Mary; and husband, Gene on November 15, 2002; sister-in-law, Patricia Koetter; and brother-in-law, Clayton Harmon.

She is survived by her sons, Terry Doyle and wife, Kathy, Ted Doyle, Kelly Doyle and wife, Karen, Pat Doyle and wife, Paula all of McCook, daughters, Sherry McKillip and husband, Randy of McCook, Peggy Morris and husband, Danny of Benkelman, Tami Potthoff and husband, Kevin of McCook; sister, Veldron Harmon; brothers, Arthur Koetter, Jr, Richard Koetter and wife, Marilyn, Bernard Koetter and wife Sharon all of McCook, James Koetter and wife, Barbara of Pocatello, ID; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials were to be given in her name.

Rosary was Sunday, March 1, 2009, 7:00 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial took place Monday, March 2, 2009, 1:00 p.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Gary Brethour officiating, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
