Ruth Ann Fickle, 90, of McCook, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Hillcrest Nursing Home.
Ruth was born on January 3, 1924 to Harley and Eulalia (Weiss) Meyer in Rushville, Indiana. She grew up in Lima, Ohio. She graduated high school in Lima.
She was united in marriage to Charles W. Fickle on May 5, 1945 in Lima, Ohio. The couple moved to McCook, Nebraska where Charles was stationed at the McCook Air Base.
They lived between McCook and Culbertson most of their marriage. From 1986 until 1996 they lived in Kimberling City, Missouri.
Ruth Ann worked at various jobs over the years and retired from Dayco in 1986.
She loved spending her time being with her family and kept busy doing sewing and many arts and crafts.
She was the loving mother to her children: daughter, LeAnn and husband, Elmer Frick of McCook; sons, Dale and wife, Virginia Fickle of Culbertson, James and wife, Kathy Fickle of Bartley and Charles R. Fickle of McCook.
She had five grandchildren, Kelly Fassler, Michael Fickle, Kristine Holly, Tamara Fickle and Stacey Ellington. She also had seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles of 61 years in 2006; three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her children; grandchildren; great grandchildren; many friends and her Hillcrest family.
Memorial services 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 5, 2014 at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Private family inurnment in the Culbertson Cemetery.
Memorials may be left in her name to Hillcrest Nursing Home.
