Ruth Lucile Madron departed this life Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook. She was 92 years old.
Ruth was born in McCook on February 17, 1916 to Raymond Vear and Edith May (Lytle) Huet. She graduated from McCook High School in 1932.
Ruth was united in marriage to DeWitt Clinton "Clint" Madron in McCook on June 9, 1933. To this union six children were born. They made their home in McCook where Ruth was a busy mother and homemaker. She was also employed by the Nebraska Department of Social Services for 17 years until her retirement.
She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and Railroad Auxiliary. She enjoyed her pinochle card club, her flower garden and traveling. She especially loved the time spent at the cabin on Enders Lake with her children and grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Raymond and Edith Huet; her husband Clint Madron on Nov. 1, 1973; daughter, Jane Svendsen; three grandchildren, Nathan Madron, Andrew Sandman, and baby Svendsen; two sons-in-law, Rudy Mieth and Warren Kindler; one brother, Donald Huet; and sister, Dorothy Belknap and husband, Roland.
Survivors include her children, Donnalee and husband, Herb Malany, of Boise, ID, Marcia and husband, Ed Overton, of McCook, James Madron of Castle Rock, CO, William "Bill" Madron and wife, Judi, of McCook and Cynthia "Cindy" and husband, Kirk Sandman, of Wauneta; son-in-law, Gene Svendsen of Lakewood, CO; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Memorials were to be given in her name to Memorial United Methodist Church or Hillcrest Nursing Home.
Funeral Services were Saturday, December 13, 2008, 11:00 a.m., at Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating. Burial took place in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland funeral home was in charge of the arrangements.
