Ruthella Theda Jones

Ruthella Theda Jones died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at McCook Community Hospital. She was 85 years old.
Ruthella was born January 30, 1921, to George and Theda (Poore) Carter in Red Willow County. She attended Red Willow School, McCook Junior College and Kearney State College.
She married John Francis Jones in McCook on September 22, 1940. To this union five children were born.
She was a member First Congregational Church, Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution and Good Sam’s Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Theda; husband, John on January 27, 2004; two grandchildren, Franklin Marts, Rhonda Jones; two brothers, Robert and Theo; daughter-in-law, Linda Jones; son-in-law. Paul Smidt
Survivors include her son, Ronald of Golden, Colorado; daughters, Leanna Smidt, of Greeley, Colorado, Theda Stanley and husband Dale of Wilsonville, Paula McArthur and husband John of McCook, Robin Wonderly and husband Jerry of Bartley; sister, Alice Driscoll of Kearney; 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and five great-great- grandchildren.
Memorials were to be given in her name.
Funeral services were at the First Congregational Church on Saturday, May 13, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Steve Bales officiating.
Burial took place at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
