Sandra Kay (Marquardt) Clevenger

Sandra Kay Clevenger, age 69, passed away Wednesday, September 09, 2015 at Community Hospital in McCook, NE.

Sandy was born June 17, 1946 in Marysville, Kansas to parents Duke and Eris Jean (Smith) Marquardt.  She was one of four children.  The family later relocated to Culbertson where Sandy attended school, graduating from Culbertson High School in 1964.

Sandy loved to crochet, paint and write poetry.  Her favorite past time was sitting on the patio, visiting with family and friends.  Holidays with family were important to her.   She was a member of the Methodist faith.

Sandy married Thomas Clevenger on March 2, 1990 in McCook.  The couple made their home in Culbertson.

Survivors include husband Tom Clevenger of Culbertson; sons Troy (Catherine) Clark of Centennial, CO and Bobby (Dawn) Williams of Culbertson; daughter Tamera (Greg) Faimon of McCook; brother Joe (Joy) Marquardt of Holdrege, NE; sister Janice Elliott of Culbertson;  brother in law Murray Rehn of Hillsboro, TX; six grandchildren Samantha and Brandon Clark, Jacob Faimon, Stacey and Duke Williams, and Megan Anderson; one great granddaughter on the way; and numerous aunts, cousins, nephews nieces and close friends.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents; sister Vicky Rehn; and brother in law Robert Elliott.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 1 to 8 PM at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson with Pastor Alisa Parde officiating.

Inurnment will follow in the Culbertson Cemetery.
