Sheila Wederski died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Community Hospital in McCook. She was 77 years old.
Sheila was born in Aberdeen, Scotland on February 19, 1933, to John Bruce and Elizabeth (Milhe) Massie. She attended school in Aberdeen and later received her business certificate. She was employed as a clerk in a foundry for many years while living in Scotland.
On September 16, 1983, she was united in marriage to Phillip Dean Wederski at Trenton. They made their home in Indianola where Sheila was employed by Ag Valley and Garys Steak Barn. She and Phillip later became owners and operators of Night Tracks in Indianola.
She loved to go shopping, collect coins and spend time with her cats and dogs. She also loved little children, often giving them a candy bar at the restaurant.
Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Elizabeth Massie; and two brothers, Jackie and Sonny Massie.
Survivors include her husband, Phillip Wederski of Indianola; son, Thomas Greg and wife, Elaine, of Aberdeen, Scotland; daughter, Morage Smith of Australia; step-sons Kenneth Wederski and wife, Dayna and Timothy Wederski all of Woodward, OK; step-daughter, Theresa Murphy of Quincy, IL; two sisters, Nora and husband, Eric Gilbert, and Betty and husband, John McKensey, all of Aberdeen; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorials were to be given in her name.
Memorial services were Wednesday, March 10, 2010, 2:30 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Chapel with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. After the service, her body was sent to her homeland in Scotland.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
