Sheryl Lee "Sher" Stroup passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 64 years old.
Sher was born on September 14, 1949 at Denver, CO to parents, Merle Boyd and Pauline Margaret (Hessler) Nunenkamp. As a child she was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. She graduated from Lutheran Parochial High School in Denver in 1967.
On August 24, 1968 she was united in marriage to James Ham in Denver. To this union three children were born, Jaime, Jeff, and Jodi. The family relocated to Benkelman in 1975.
On April 20, 1985 she was united in marriage to Lyle G. Stroup at Benkelman where they were residing at the time of her death. Sher was a bookkeeper and receptionist for Dr. Stout for many years.
Her hobbies included bowling, beading, plaster painting and gardening. She was an avid reader and Colorado Buffalo fan. Her most enjoyment in life was the time spent with family and friends especially her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her father, Merle Nunenkamp and sister, Debra Adams.
Survivors include her loving husband of 28 years, Lyle Stroup of Benkelman; children, Jaime and husband, Dana Baggs, of Denver, Jeff Ham and wife, Diane, of Seattle, WA and Jodi Custer and Shelley Leitner of Omaha: her mother, Pauline Nunenkamp of Carl Junction, MO; sister, Patsy and husband, Warren Clark, of Carl Junction; three grandchildren, Courtney, Bryce and AJ; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.
