Shirley Ann Grabast, 72, of Palisade, died Sunday, March 19, 2006 at Cambridge Hospital as a result of car accident.
She was born on August 1, 1933, at the family farm in Palisade, to Floyd F. and Ann (Dudek) Follett. She attended Palisade Public Schools.
Shirley was united in marriage to Gary Grabast on July 29, 1971 in Trenton. He preceded her in death in 1992.
She was employed as a secretary for Southwest Public Power for several years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #318, Palisade City Council, Childrens Reading Program and Community Service Club.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Floyd and Ann Follett; her husband, Gary Grabast; and two brothers, Don and Ralph Follett.
Survivors include her three sons, Ronald Decker and wife, Barbara, of Garden City, KS, Dennis L. Decker and wife, Becky, of McCook and Douglas Decker and wife, Janet,
of Ringwood, NJ; one daughter, Kathie and husband, Drew Connell, of Holt, MO; step-son, Dennis Grabast and wife, Hayley, of Lincoln; two sisters, Mary L. Post and Eva Pezza both of Palisade; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials were to be given in her name.
Funeral services were Saturday, March 25, 2006, 11:00 a.m. at the Palisade United Methodist Church with Rev. Judy Dye officiating. Burial took place in the Palisade Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
