Shirley R Patton

Mrs. Shirley Ruth Patton, age 88, of Benkelman, Nebraska passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, at the Hester Home in Benkelman. 

Shirley was born September 15, 1936, in Boulder, CO to parents Albert Lee and Bessie L. (Jenner) Hard. She was one of on three children.

On March 20, 1980, Shirley married Billy Patton in McCook, NE. She enjoyed painting, gardening, crochet, embroidery and long drives through the country. Shirley attended the Stratton United Methodist Church in Stratton, NE.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Bub Terwilliger and Billy Patton; brother, Raymond Hard; sister, Norma Haller; and grandson, Jonathon Terwilliger.

Those left to celebrate her life include her children Sherry Terwilliger of Stratton, NE, Pam (Doug) Carrell of Loveland, CO, Chuck Haller of Stratton, NE, Tim Haller of Denver, CO; and step-children, Mark Patton, Brian Patton and Kathy Patton, all of Yakima, WA; and Christeana (Todd) Jordan and Mary (Don) Reid, all of Cheyenne, WY. Shirley left five grandchildren, Shawn Terwilliger of Stratton, NE, Edward Creason III, Emily Fox, Nicole Carrell and Michael Carrell, all in the CO Front Range area. Shirley also left five great grandchildren, Holly Hylton, Travis, Terwilliger and Samantha Terwilliger, all of Stratton, NE and Jordan Fox and Sofia Mendias in CO.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Sarah Ann Hester Memorial Home, 407 Dakota St, Benkelman, NE 69021. 

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
