Stannis Maureen Spencer, age 88, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Community Hospital of McCook.

Stannis was born on November 26, 1927 to Stanley Marvin and Mary Irene (Whitaker) Clark in Boise, Idaho.  The family moved to Nebraska when she was young.  She graduated from Benkelman High School in 1944.

She married Robert C. Bosley in Benkelman on November 28, 1946.  While Robert was in Law School, she worked in the Capitol.  They moved to Hayes Center where they raised their family and she worked at the County Clerk Office.  In 1969 they moved to Trenton and she worked at the Bank.

On May 20, 1976 she married Kenneth Spencer in Trenton.  They moved to McCook and she worked at McCook Community College.

Stannis was on the Hayes Center School Board for several terms.  She also served on the Red Willow Election Board.

Stannis was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Methodist Prayer Circle.  She was choir director and Sunday School teacher at the Congregational Church in Hayes Center.  She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, BPO Does and many bridge clubs.  She was a past member of Hayes Center Rebecka Lodge.

Survivors include her children, Claudia and husband, Dexter Potter of Hill City, KS, Patricia Sanchell of McCook, Beth and husband, Steve Messersmith of Curtis, Paula Davis and husband, Bill of McCook and Jerri Collicott and husband, Richard of McCook;  step-children, Vicky Nelson, Kendra Watson, Robert Spencer, Tami Thomas and Roderick D. Spencer and their spouses and families; half sister, Joyce Jamison of Rogers, MT; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth on October 14, 2010; daughter, René Marie Dye and husband, Marvin and step-granddaughter, Amanda; brothers, Kyle and Forrest Clark; and step-father, Russell Uphouse.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Memorial United Methodist church with Rev. Dr Doug Griger officiating.   Private family Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in her name.
