Stephen Palecek

Mr. Stephen Palecek, age 66, of North Platte, NE passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Great Plains Medical Center In North Platte.

Steve was born January 5, 1955 in Xenia, Ohio to parents William J. and Virginia Eloise (Workman) Palecek.  He was one of three children born to this union.  Steve attended school in Xenia where he also graduated from high school.  Following high school, Steve enlisted in the United States Army on January 28, 1972 where he proudly served his country until his honorable discharge on May 8, 1973.

Steve enjoyed fishing as well as collecting antiques and art.  He was a very caring person, always willing to lend a helping hand to others.  Steve moved from Sterling, Colorado to North Platte in 2014.

Steve was proceeded in death by his parents; wife; sister, Marsha Kirk; and a nephew.

Those left to celebrate his life include his brother, Paul Palecek of Sterling; brother in law, Lloyd Kirk of Palisade, NE; nieces, Becky Smith of Rushville, NE and Chelzie (Marc) Trujillo of Colorado Springs, CO; and his nephews, Jim (Sherlynn) Kirk of Palisade, John (Letta) Palecek of Kettering, OH, Joe Palecek and Isaac Santos, both of Colorado Springs.
