Sue Ruppert

Sue Ruppert died Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Chase County Hospital in Imperial. She was 61 years old.

On March 23, 1948 she was born in McCook to Roy William and Catherine Patricia (Smith) Hamilton. She grew up in McCook and graduated from McCook High School in 1966 and from McCook Beauty Academy and also taught at the academy. She lived in Colorado for many years and while there worked as a beautician. Later she took respiratory therapist training in Denver and worked in the Denver area as Respiratory Therapist before moving back to McCook.

Wilber Earl Ruppert and Sue were married in McCook on May 21, 1988.

Sue was co-owner of Westside Cuts in McCook, loved her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, boating, fishing, reading, traveling, being with family, and many sports, especially football, basketball and swimming.

She attended Bethel Baptist Church.

Her parents and step-father, George Walter preceded her in death.

Survivors include: her husband, Wilber of Culbertson, a daughter Amanda Schow of Calif; a step-son, Kevin Ruppert and special friend, Candace Albers of Culbertson; step-daughters, Tammy (Kenneth) Carpenter of Platteville, Colo., Amy (Chris) Loibl of Allen, Tex., and Jamey (Jeff) Keen of McCook; eight grandchildren; a brother Frank (Norene) Hamilton of McCook and a sister, Ellen (Ken) Hockemeier of Kearney; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials were being accepted in her name.

Funeral services were Thursday December 17, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Karr officiating. Burial took place in the Culbertson Cemetery.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
