Susan (Sue) Kay Lloyd, passed away Monday, May 13, 2024 at the Community Hospital in McCook, Nebraska. She was born on October 22, 1950, in Lexington, Nebraska to Phillip and Fredia (Schnell) Cler.

Growing up on a farm near Gothenburg, Nebraska, Sue graduated from Gothenburg High School with the class of 1969, where she was a talented baton twirler in the marching band. She later pursued her passion for nursing and obtained her LPN from Mid Plains Community College.

Sue dedicated her life to helping others through her work at the Red Cross. She found joy and fulfillment during her time at the Liberty House in Wahoo, Nebraska, Cambridge Hospital in Cambridge, Nebraska, and Linden Manor in North Platte, Nebraska. Her compassion and dedication left a lasting impact on all those she cared for.

Known for her love of Native American art and culture, Sue found solace in exploring the history of this culture. Her quiet demeanor masked a deep appreciation for spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished every moment shared with them and took pride in passing down her baton twirling skills to them.

Sue was known for her love of the Lord. She spent every single morning in prayer and the reading of her Bible, as well as listening to her favorite pastors and sermons each day. Sue’s Bible stated; “Reborn into salvation on January 26, 1975” “Let the Bible fill your mind, rule your heart, and guide your life.”

Sue’s greatest desire was to see all her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, along with all of her family, come to know the Lord and be saved through Jesus Christ our Savior.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bill Lloyd.

Sue is survived by her daughter Angela Ebert of McCook, Nebraska; son-in-law Robert Ebert of McCook, Nebraska; sons Shannon (Amber) Carfield of Scottsdale Arizona and Heath Carfield of Indianola Nebraska; all  from her previous marriages to Darrell Fenner and Rex Carfield; sisters Geraldine Larsen, Virginia Cler and Rebecca (Shawn) Rossell; grandchildren Amanda Ebert, Audrey Sifuentes, Austin Ebert, Alex Ebert, Jenna Morris, Devin Carfield; great-grandchildren Makiah, Willow, Violet Sifuentes; Hadley, Harley, Aiden, Rolla and Troian Ebert; Jarrett and Adilynn Morris; Everlee Cole; Harper Carfield; and special, close friend Myron Simmons

Sue's kindness and warmth will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of compassion and love will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace knowing that her memory will be cherished forever.
