Thelma T. Adams died Friday, September 23, 2005, at Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was 97 years old.
Thelma was born on January 4, 1908, at Purdum, NE to Samuel Henry and Grace Adelaide (Oldham) Teaford. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1926.
She married Raymond P. Walter in 1928 at Kansas City. He preceded her in death in 1988. She married James S. Adams in Las Vegas on April 15, 1992.
Thelma was a member of the McCook Memorial United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She played the organ and piano and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed sewing, music, china painting and visiting with family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Raymond; one son, Rodney Walter; one daughter, Elaine Botts; two brothers, Raymond and Everett Teaford; and two sisters, Helen Keller and Mariam Pruitt.
Survivors include her husband, James Adams of McCook; son-in-law Dean Botts of McCook; one step-son, Alan Adams and wife, Annie, of Silverthorn, CO; one step-daughter, Phyllis Schwarz and husband, Gerald, of Calloway; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and 13 step-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given in her name.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 27, 9:30 a.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating. Funeral service at Purdum United Methodist Church of Christ was Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Judy Cook officiating. Also officiating for both services was Pastor Jerry Schwarz. Burial took place in the Purdum Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
