Theodore R. Deuter, age 103, passed away October 23, 2011 at El Dorado Manor in Trenton where he had made his home the past 10 years.
Theodore was born to Charles and Augusta (Shielke) Deuter on February 4, 1908. He was baptized in the Blackwood Lutheran Church. He received his education in the Blackwood Country School. His family moved to Colorado in 1920 and he was confirmed in St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church in Monte Vista, CO on August 20, 1922.
Ted was the youngest of eleven children. He stayed on the family farm until 1942 when he enlisted in the 8th Army Air Force. He was stationed in the South Pacific, New Guinea, and Okinawa and was discharged in December 1945.
He was employed by a local electrician and later farmed until his retirement in 1970. He enjoyed farming and raising cattle, and later did traveling, hunting and fishing.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a lifetime member of the VFW # 6219 of Culbertson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and all his siblings.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church in Culbertson.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 26, 2011, 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Bradley Rick officiating. Burial will take place at Culbertson Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 25, 2011, from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m.
