Thomas Theron Rowe, age 48, of McCook, NE passed away Friday, December 25, 2015 at the Community Hospital in McCook.
Tom was born November, 21, 1967 in Cozad, NE to parents Kenneth Earl and Patricia Rae (Kapustka) Rowe.
Tom graduated from Beaver Valley High School in 1986. Tom married Lorraine (Derick) Rowe in Oberlin, Kansas on December 16, 1996. The couple had two children, Adam and Abbey Rowe.
On April 17, 1985, in Kearney NE, Tom enlisted in the 295th Ordinance Company of the US Army Reserve. He attended Army Basic Training at Redstone Arsenal in Alabama in July 1986 and AIT in Fort Dix, New Jersey in June 1990. On November 2, 1988, Tom re-enlisted in the Army and was stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington State and Muenster Depot in Germany. His active duty ended April 17, 1993. Tom spent the rest of his life serving in the National Guard, in which he enlisted on July 11, 1994. As part of the Guard, he served in Operation Iraqi Freedom from April 9, 2005 until October 16, 2005.
The Rowe family made their home in McCook where Tom was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Tom began working as a National Guard Federal Technician in December 2002 and continued until the time of his death. Throughout his life Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and cooking. He will be remembered for the large gardens he grew each summer.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Rowe; his grandparents; and his mother in law, Joan Carter.
Those left to mourn his loss are wife, Lorraine Rowe of the home; children, Adam Rowe and Abbey Rowe, both of McCook; mother, Patricia (Randy) Dishman of Gothenburg, NE; step mother, Amber Rowe of Danbury, NE; brother Joshua (Jackie) Dishman of Lincoln, NE; sisters, Kerrie (Eugene) Witt of McCook and Mindy Dishman and companion Joel Buntmyer of Omaha, NE. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family members and a host of friends.
