Thomas H. "T Bone" Barron passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 at Community Hospital in McCook. He was 67 years old.
T Bone was born on June 22, 1946 at Rochester, New York to parents, Thomas Arthur and Ruth Irene (Farnan) Barron. He attended school in Penfield, NY.
On March 17, 1964 he entered the US Army and served with the 2 Battalion 61st Infantry Regiment. He was honorably discharged on March 16, 1970.
On July 21, 1988 he was united in marriage to Gloria Ann Koetter in Las Vegas, NV. They made their home in McCook where T Bone was a self-employed carpet layer.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the McCook Elk's and Eagle's Lodge. His contagious smile and love for people was enjoyed by his family, friends, and coffee buddies at Old Sarge's Bar. He was an avid baseball fan of which included the Yankee's and Rockies teams. That enjoyment would extend to coaching his son, Jimmy's, baseball teams throughout his school days. The Bison and Husker's were also a big part of his encompassing enthusiasm for all sports. Other hobbies of T Bone's included cooking and grilling for the family and playing cards, especially Pitch.
Preceding him in death were his son, Michael Barron; parents, Thomas and Ruth Barron; sister, Carol Davis; and mother-in-law, Patricia Koetter.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Barron of McCook; sons, Jimmy Barron of McCook and Thomas Barron of Lakeland, FL; two sisters, Kathy and husband, Larry Petersen, of Phoenix, AZ and Ann Griffo of Rochester, NY; five grandchildren, Hannah, Kemo, Dean, Thomas and Emily Barron; father-in-law, Arthur Koetter of McCook; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Memorials may be given in his name.
