Valda Rae Eyl, age 78, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Community Hospital of McCook.
Valda was born in Loup City, Nebraska on May 11, 1939 to Ephram S. and Barbara L. (Gunzinski) Tyma. She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School in 1957.
On November 23, 1963 she married Clyde Eyl in Colorado Springs, CO. Seven children were born to this union. Over the years they lived in several different cities; Aurora, CO Colorado Springs, CO, Franktown, CO, Lake Havasu City, AZ and Culbertson, NE.
Valda enjoyed her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her free time, Valda’s favorite hobby was embroidery; she spent many hours creating beautiful tea towels, pillow cases and clothing items. She also enjoyed old movies, polka music, dancing and traveling. She was a member of the Hilltop Social Club in Colorado.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde in 2016; two grandchildren, Kaley and Vincent.
Valda is survived by seven children, son Brian (Tami) Eyl of Trenton, NE, daughter Brenda (Randy) Reed of Conroe, TX, son Craig (Teri) Eyl of Aurora, CO, son Bradley (Tisha) Eyl of Ozark, AL, daughter Christine (Monte) Tjelmeland of Sioux Falls, SD, son Curtis (Lisa) Eyl of Centennial, CO and daughter, Kimberly Eyl of Colorado Springs, CO; 31 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Church of God in Trenton with Pastor Jason Smith officiating.
Memorials may be given in her name to Community Healthcare Home and Hospice, 1301 East H St, McCook, NE 69001.
