Vernice D. Sines

Vernice Delaine Sines, age 94, of McCook, NE passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Community Hospital, McCook.

Vernice was born March 19, 1925 in Indianola, NE to parents Fred A. and Amanda (Hinz) Reiners.  She was one of two children born to this union.  Vernice attended school in Indianola, graduating from Indianola High School with the Class of 1943.

Vernice married Leonard W. Sines on June 9, 1946 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural McCook. The couple was blessed with a daughter, Linda.  The family made their home in McCook where Vernice was employed by DeGroff’s Department Store for 33 years.  Vernice also worked as an office manager for Cornbelt Chemical before retiring in 1987.

Vernice was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she was baptized, confirmed and married.  She was the oldest surviving member at the time of her death.  She also served on the Church Guild.

Vernice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother and sister in law, Griff (Fern) Reiners.

Those left to celebrate her life include her daughter, Linda (Richard) Clark of Windsor, CA; three grandchildren, Andrea Clark of Los Angeles, CA, Bevin (William) Pagel of Cortlandt Manor, NY and their children, Jade and Jack, and Kyle (Theresa) Clark of Maple Grove, MN.
