Vincent C. Broz, McCook, Nebraska, was born to eternal life on Monday, July 15, 2013 at the age of 95 years. He was born on March 26, 1918 to Frank Joseph and Agnes Catherine (Schneider) Broz in Hayes County. In 1942 Vincent enlisted in the U.S. Navy Air Corp and served as Aviation Radioman First Class. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Vincent was the third generation farmer of family land homesteaded in 1885 by his grandparents, Michael and Mary Broz, in southeastern Hayes County, Nebraska.
Vincent was the beloved husband of the late Margaret Lee McLamore Broz, married on May 29, 1946 at Fort Worth, Texas. He was the loving father of seven children: Suzanne Wren (Jerome), Thomas (Cathy), James (Katherine), Gerald (Margaret), Daniel, Judith Wittwer (Clark) and Jeanne Bishop (Gregg); proud grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Florence Jeffers and Theresa Steiner; and one brother, Walter.
He is also survived by his two brothers, Francis Broz, McCook, Nebraska and LaVern Broz, Conroe, Texas.
Memorials may be given to Catholic Social Services of Southern Nebraska, Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN), Sacred Heart Church Cemetery (Hayes Center, NE) or to a favorite charity in Vincent's name.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 21, 2013 from 4:00 until the time of the rosary at Carpenter-Breland Funeral Home, McCook, Nebraska.
The Rosary will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 22, 2013 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, McCook Nebraska, with Father Andrew Heaslip as Celebrant. A luncheon will follow. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hayes County at 2:00 p.m.
