Virginia Marie Stinson, 82, died on Monday, March 1, 2004, at the Community Hospital of McCook, NE.

She was born to William Frederick and Lillian Marie (Junker) Baumbach, Jr. on January 9, 1922, in Red Willow County, McCook, NE. She attended country school in Indianola.

She married Kenneth F. Stinson, August 10, 1943, in Denver, CO. They farmed in the Indianola and Palisade area until Kenneth's death in 1976. In 1983, she was married to Willard Yost of Wauneta.

She was a member of the Catholic Church in McCook and Palisade.

Virginia was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was an adoring grandmother and great-grandmother and a dear friend to all that knew her. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She liked to sew and had a great passion for making quilts and also enjoyed attending craft fairs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two husbands.

Survivors include: Two sons, Greg Stinson and wife Carolyn of Douglas, WY, Robert Stinson and wife Paula of Palisade. Three daughters: Kathy Roesener of Stromsberg, Karen Reiners and husband Jerry of Mountain Home, AK, Peggy Stinson-Moore and husband, Warren of Parker, CO: One brother Howard Baumbach of McCook and one sister, Lucille Ireland of McCook: Eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, six step-grandsons, two step-granddaughters and their children.

Memorials may be given in her name to the American Cancer Society and can be mailed to the funeral home.

Rosary will be Wednesday, March 3, 2004, 6:30 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, March 4, 2004, 10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Gary Brethour officiating. Burial will be in the Palisade Cemetery. Friends may sign her book at the funeral home.
