Vivian Kompus, age 94, passed away December 12, 2013 at the Dundy County Hospital in Benkelman, NE with family by her side.
Vivian Kompus was born September 23, 1919 to Marie and Elmer Martin. She lived in Cambridge, NE in her early life.
June 25, 1941 she married Donald Frandsen and they were farmers and cattle feeders. Two daughters were born, Donita and Shirley. Donald lost his life in a tractor accident in 1957.
Vivian remained on the farm until the girls were grown then they moved to McCook.
October 16, 1971 she married John Kompus, so she was back to the farm at Herndon, Kansas until they retired and moved to McCook.
John passed away May 9, 1992.
Vivian was a homemaker and got to love and enjoy her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-granddaughter.
Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Gladys; brothers, Burhl and Ervin; two nephews, Glenn and Dwayne; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Donita and husband, Ron Clark of Benkelman, NE, Shirley and husband, Gale Harder of Bella Vista, AR; four grandchildren, Cindy and husband, Todd Anderson; Tina and husband Lester Beall, Travis and wife, Alli Harder, Brian and wife, Christy Harder; nieces and nephews, step-grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 16, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at First Congregational Church in McCook, NE with Rev. Steve Bales officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at the Cambridge Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the First Congregational Church in lieu of flowers.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
