Wanda Elaine Bald, age 91, passed away Wednesday, February 08, 2012, at Hillcrest Nursing Home.
Wanda was born on March 8, 1920 to Irwin and Evelyn (Robinson) Hogg in Shelton, Nebraska. She graduated from Shelton High School in 1936 and went on to the Nebraska State Normal School at Kearney. She taught school for 2 years after college.
Wanda and F. Louis Bald were married in Lexington on July 14, 1939. To this union five children were born.
She worked at the McCook Daily Gazette for 27 years as an office manager.
Wanda was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Eureka Chapter OES #86 where she was past matron and honored with her 50 year membership pin, PEO Chapter GY, TTT, and Daughters of the Nile Shrine Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis in 1989; brother, Orin Hogg; sisters, Doris Alberts, Edna Welker, Phyllis Bly; infant daughter, Sondra Elaine; infant son; sons Ronald Louis and Kenneth Richard.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Clark and husband, Roger of Centennial, CO; daughters-in-law, Joyce Lenart and husband, Ray of Estero, FL and Ann Thomas and husband Joe of Kailua, HI; four grandchildren, Kristen (Riley) McGirk and their children, Kathryn and Allie, Craig (Anne) Bald and their children, Alexander and Charles, Andrea (Jon) Haller and their children, Josephine, Andrew and Charles; Jennifer (Robert) Jess and son, Tanner.
Memorials may be given to Memorial United Methodist Church.
Memorial services will be February 24, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Lance Clay officiating. Burial will be in the Wood River Cemetery in Wood River at 4:00 p.m.
