Wanda Melvene Seals

Wanda Melvene Seals died Monday, February 16, 2009 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook. She was 84 years old.
On August 20, 1924, she was born in McCook to Charles H. and Bernice (McManigal) Mitchell. She attended McCook schools and lived in the community all her life.
Wanda married Alfred C. Seals, Sr. in McCook on January 31, 1942. They had four children, Alfred "Fred", Charlene, Donna and Renee.
She worked at Modern Cleaners, Hillcrest Nursing Home and retired from Dayco. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, crafts and Nebraska football. She loved watching their grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their sports and other events.
Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, Dale and Robert Mitchell; three sisters, Letty Scheidt, June Marquardt and Jean Dauchey.
Survivors include Son Alfred C. Seals, Jr. and wife Carol of Nicholasville, KY; daughters, Charlene Peters and husband Dennis of Williamsburg, VA, Donna Hartley and husband Don of Lincoln and Renee Fritz and husband Steve of McCook; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Burial took place in Riverview Cemetery.
Memorials were to be given to the Alzheimer Association.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
