Wanda Martha Thompson, age 84 died Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Hillcrest Nursing Home.

She was born in Omaha to Laurs Benjimon and Cecil Sylvia (Anderson) Hansen on September 21, 1925. She graduated from high school in Omaha.

She was an active member of Eastern Star and enjoyed fishing, traveling and ceramics.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Martin Thompson, Jr; step-son, Martin Eugene Thompson; and brother, Theodore Hansen.

She is survived by her sons, Melvin Werth of South Carolina, David Thompson and wife, Debbie; daughters, Linda West and Nancy Martinson and husband, Roger all of Omaha, Debbie Sinclair and husband, Scott of Sidney; daughter-in-law, Jodeen Thompson of Waterloo; nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and two step-great-great grandchildren.

Memorials were to be given to the Alzheimer's Association.

Memorial services were held in Omaha on Saturday, October 3, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at the Tangier Shrine Mosque.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
