Wilburta "Bertie" Suse DeBauche

Wilburta “Bertie” Sue Carroll DeBauche, age 74, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015 at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln.

Bertie was born September 28, 1940 in Monona County, Iowa to Wilbur Carroll and Darlene Rains. She was baptized into the Catholic Church on April 2, 1950 and graduated from Onawa High School in Onawa, Iowa in 1958.

Bertie was united in marriage to Thomas Gene DeBauche on June 4, 1958 in Elkhorn, South Dakota. To this union four children were born: Tim Earl, Terry Lee, Ted Everett and Tina Marie.

She spent a good deal of time working on the farm along side Tom. A lot of memories were made while milking cows, cleaning furrowing crates and feeding sheep. After moving to McCook she was employed at First Federal Lincoln for 25 years. After retiring from the bank she went into the real estate business with Coldwell Bankers. She was later employed by Schaffert Manufacturing until her health would no longer allow her to work.

She was active in church, Toast Masters and extension clubs. Bertie was great at multi tasking such as reading a book, crocheting, watching t.v. and ignoring you all at the same time.

Survivors include her son, Terry and wife, Deb of Elbert, CO; daughter, Tina and Jerry Kircher of Indianola; daughter-in-law, Sally of Merna; sister, Crystal and Gene Ward of Indianola; grandchildren, Joel and Sara DeBauche of Omaha, Jodi DeBauche of Omaha, Spencer and Hanna DeBauche of Durango, CO, Kenton Kircher and special friend, Emily of Curtis, Ethan DeBauche of Durango, Shelby and Anthony Brown of McCook, Adrienne DeBauche of Elbert, Logan Kircher and Emily Kircher both of Indianola; great-grandchildren, Kayleen and Payton DeBauche of Omaha, Scarlett Brown of McCook; several nieces, nephews and extended family and their beloved dog Diesel.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom; sons, Tim and Ted; and brother, Jim

Visitation will be Friday, March 13, 2015 from 1:00 to 8:00 at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook. The family will greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Pastor Shanon Williams officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Indianola.

Memorials may be given in her name.
