Wilma Lenore Cohen, 90, of McCook died Friday, June 11, 2004, at Community Hospital.
Wilma was born on December 2, 1913, in Wallace, to Harry and Mabel (Kain) Rees. She graduated from Wallace High School in 1932.
On October 23, 1938, she married Eugene Cohen in Wallace. In 1951, they moved to a farm south of McCook. She was living at Willow Ridge Retirement Community at the time of her death.
Wilma was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Rosary Society. She was also a member of DAR, AARP and Community Hospital Auxiliary.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Harry and Mabel Rees; her husband, Eugene Cohen on April 15, 1993; one sister, Evelyn Stransky; and two brothers, infant Harry Lee Rees and Howard Rees.
Survivors include her son Stanley Cohen of McCook; daughter, Teresa Helmick and husband, David, of Roseland; two sisters, Betty Berry of Los Angeles, CA and Irma Petersen of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Memorials may be given in her name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to the Arthritis Foundation.
Rosary was Monday, June 14, 2004, 6:30 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was on Tuesday, June 15, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Jerel Scholl officiating. Burial took place in Morningview Cemetery at Wallace, NE.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook was in charge of the arrangements.
