Zelpa Ilene Scott

Zelpa Ilene Scott of Hayes Center, died Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Great Plains Medical Center in North Platte. She was 89.
Zelpha was born on December 1, 1919 to Frank William and Charlotte "Lottie" Esther (Fornoff) Snoke in Hayes Center. She spent a lifetime on the family farm in the Eddy community and she loved to farm and do crafts such as crocheting and making quilts. She enjoyed music and flowers.
She married John W. Scott on August 28, 1937 at St. Francis, Kansas.
She was a member of Union Congregational Church in Hayes Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lottie; husband, John Scott on Dec. 10, 1975; infant son; and grandson, Stephen "Steve" Scott.
She is survived by her two sons, Alfred Scott of Council Bluffs, and Dean Scott of Hayes Center; sisters, Edna Marie Sandman of Wauneta, Charlotte Odom of Picquane, MS; three grandchildren, Lisa Scott of Omaha, John Scott of Council Bluffs, Larry Scott of Greeley, CO; six great grandchildren.
Memorials were to be given in her name.
Funeral services were Monday September 28th at 2:00 p.m. at Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Hayes Center with Pastor Fay Ann Blaylock officiating. Burial took place in the Hayes Center Cemetery.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
